Your company specializes in floor coverings and have received a letter from Brown Flooring Ltd of 5 Portobello Street, London CE 5 in which they inform you that they themselves have received a number of enquiries from customers for floor coverings suitable for new buildings in the region. Brown Flooring Ltd request samples of your range  and designs and enquire about your delivery and payment terms.

Write a reply to their letter.

Use block format, open punctuation and assume that company-headed paper is used, so that you can omit the letterhead.

Make sure that you use formal language of correspondence and provide the necessary information. Do not forget about enclosures.

Submit an editable file, preferably MS Word and name the file using your name.

LETTER CHASING PAYMENT

 Write a letter in which you will address the issues below.

On several occasions recently, one of your main customers has been late settling their account. This has caused your company cashflow and other problems. Write a letter to the customer in which you will:

1. complain about the latest late payment

2. give details of the delay

3. explain the consequences for your business

4. say what will happen if payment is not made

5. express condition for disregarding the email.

This letter must be comprehensive – it must have the proper layout and address all of the issues above. Follow open punctuation an block format.

Additionally, you must write well-rounded sentences, containing specific information – dates, amounts, names etc.

It is essential that your letter shows cohesion – one idea flows from another, there is a logical connection between sentences.

You MUST use the linking words, of which you have many examples in this correspondence module.

The letter must be submitted in an editable format, named using your surname. I will mark it, but if it is below an acceptable standard, you will have to rewrite it until the quality is there. So it is better to do it first time right.

The assignment can bring bring my original students 5 points, and a total of 8 points to my new arrivals.
