The course focuses on key contemporary issues in international and development economics, including the global economy, economic growth and development, international migration, and consumer behavior. It also introduces students to the methodology of socio-economic research, data visualization techniques, and the use of new technologies and AI tools in academic research. The main aim of the course is to support students in conducting independent research leading to the preparation of a bachelor’s thesis in the field of international business. Students will develop their skills in defining research problems, formulating research questions and hypotheses, applying appropriate qualitative and quantitative methods, collecting and analyzing data, and presenting findings in a written academic form.
Detailed course content and seminar topics will be tailored to students’ research interests, enabling them to apply theoretical and methodological frameworks to their chosen subjects.
(1) Global Economics, Development, Migration Studies, and Consumer Behavior in International Markets.
(2) Research Methods and Technologies: Socio-economic research design using quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods; data visualization; and the ethical use of digital and AI tools in research.
(3) Academic Writing and Thesis Preparation: Structuring and writing academic texts, ensuring proper citation and academic integrity, presenting research progress, and preparing for the thesis defense.
The course adopts an interdisciplinary approach, integrating perspectives from economics, sociology, demography, and data science.
